The Head of Boarding, who lives on campus, leads a team of dedicated and experienced staff, who are responsible for the individual care and comfort of all the girls. A housemistress is allocated to each year group and a special bond is formed over the years. The Boarding House Secretary is available to girls and parents throughout the day.
Listening and talking are an important part of living in the Boarding House. The Head of Boarding is in regular contact with boarders' parents and has an open approach to communication. She is also in regular contact with classroom teachers, Dean of Students and counsellors. There is also great deal of communication between the girls and the Head of Boarding and the housemistresses.
The girls’ health is cared for by qualified nurses who staff the school’s Medical Centre.
Our Head Chef provides a healthy, balanced diet which includes a vegetarian choice every evening. A student group meets with the Head of Boarding each term to discuss food and menus and ensure meals remain popular. Breakfast and dinner are always served in the Dining Room in the Boarding House. On school days, morning tea and lunch are served at the front of the Boarding House. There are occasions throughout the school year for girls to take part in more formal dining.
There is a boarders’ Chapel service each week. The school Chaplain and school counsellors offer support and care.
The Big Sister: Little Sister programme assigns each new Year 7/8 student to an older girl who acts as a mentor to her.
