The Lady Wardle Performing Arts Centre offers a versatile venue for all sorts of events from business meetings, seminars, award ceremonies, lectures, exhibitions and book launches to plays, concerts, dance productions and much more.
The Centre's single level, raked-auditorium provides seating for 509 people. For a more intimate setting, the first five rows can be lit while the rest of the theatre is darkened, creating a 165-seat venue to suit smaller audiences.
The first two rows can be removed to create an orchestra pit. The auditorium offers comfortable seating with generous leg-room, as well as accessibility for disabled patrons.

A large thrust stage with a fully sprung floor makes the venue ideal for all types of dance, drama and musical performance. It has three sets of curtains, balconies on either side of the stage and twelve winch lines for lighting and scenery. The backstage area comprises four large studios suitable for use as seminar, rehearsal and dressing rooms.
The latest in lighting, sound and audiovisual equipment are all on hand. Boasting names such as Shure, Selecon, EV, ETC and Allen & Heath, the Centre is ready to meet all types of performance, recording and presentation needs. A 6m x 4.8m projection screen in the main auditorium makes the venue ideal for multimedia presentations. Display monitors in the main foyers all viewing of the action on stage while a sound relay system keeps the backstage area up-to-date.

The three studios provide flexible spaces for seminars, music rehearsal and dressing rooms. The adjoining dance studio, with sprung floor, wall-to-wall mirrors and a mobile ballet bar is also available for hire.
The feature lit walls of the upper foyer are ideal for displaying art work.
Functions
The lower foyer has a fully functional bar while the upper foyer can easily be converted into a VIP lounge area for special guests. The Performing Arts Centre is set in the beautiful grounds of St Mary's Anglican Girls' School and the outside space is available to guests.
Onsite catering is available in the foyers for pre-show functions, luncheons and dinners. Our Head Chef offers a selection of catering options to suit your event and budget.
