The Peter Arney Centre for Early Learning at St Mary’s offers innovative early learning programmes for Kindergarten and Pre-primary children.
Our philosophy is based upon children’s play, which early childhood educators believe to be a sound base for formal learning. Children are introduced to their first learning environment in a co-educational setting. The learning environment is happy and relaxed, allowing children to build their confidence and independence. Developing positive attitudes towards other children, teaching staff, and learning in general are given great importance.
A positive social programme provides opportunities for children to gain knowledge, skills and attitudes at levels that are appropriate to their development. Each child is immersed in a rich language environment and is encouraged to participate in a wide range of speaking, listening, viewing, early reading and writing activities. The Centre provides light, spacious, homely facilities surrounded by exciting outdoor playground areas.
The balanced programme offers each child time for all areas of learning.
