Dance encourages artisitic creativity and and active use of the imagination, whilst building confidence and an understanding of the human body. The school's beautifully appointed dance studio is located in the Lady Treatt Centre for Music and Dance.

Years 8, 9 and 10

In Years 9 and 10 students can opt to experience the world of dance in courses that cover a range of contemporary dance styles.

They will be involved in exploring Jazz, Contemporary and Modern, Tap and Street styles. The activities allow students the opportunity to work with compulsory dance steps and also to create and present their own original devised pieces.

Years 11 and 12

Dance is a Tertiary Entrance Scoring subject and is offered to Year 11 and Year 12 students. Students experience and enjoy personal achievement through expressing and challenging themselves physically. They work predominantly in the contemporary dance genre and are encouraged to work independently and with others to present dance works to a variety of audiences. There is a considerable theoretical and written component to the dance course.
