English as a Second Language (ESL) is offered as an alternative course for students whose first language is not English.

For Years 8 to 10, the level and content of the course is tailored to meet the needs of individual students. Each student is given an opportunity to develop her language skills so that she can more easily cope with the reading and writing demands of other subjects. During Years 8, 9 and 10 students can move from ESL classes into mainstream English if they acquire the necessary competency.

Years 11 and 12

English as an Additional Language/Dialect is offered as a Tertiary Entrance Scoring subject to students who meet the criteria. This course exposes students to a variety of English texts and encourages the development of written and oral skills. The main aim of the TEE course is to prepare students for further study in institutions and courses where English is the language of instruction. All English as an Additional Language classes are small and can provide the girls with the best opportunity to improve their written and spoken English.
