Students are offered a valuable opportunity to study and experience the individual disciplines of History, Geography, Economics and Politics. This enables the girls to gain a deeper understanding of these subjects and to take advantage of the skills and concepts each specialised subject has to offer. As the girls progress through the Senior School they are therefore able to make more informed and relevant cross-curricular inferences and references.

Our philosophy is to create an educationally challenging environment, which will foster the development of skills that will enable students to become well-informed, critically thinking, active citizens who have confidence in their ability and a genuine desire to learn and enquire. The courses are strongly skills-oriented, encouraging students to research, analyse, interpret and present, using a wide range of media.

Years 8, 9 and 10

In Years 8, 9 and 10 Geography and History are compulsory. A Society and Environment course is offered to those who found the individual subjects difficult. In Year 10 Economics and Politics are also compulsory subjects.

Years 11 and 12

Students in Years 11 and 12 can study Economics, Geography, Practical Geography and History.
