Welcome to Out of School Care

Our service uses the framework ‘My Time, Our Place’, which is a national framework developed for school age care in Australia.  The framework acknowledges the importance of exploration, play and leisure in children’s learning and development and that their learning is not limited to any particular time or place.  Developing life skills and a sense of enjoyment are emphasised.  The framework recognises the importance of social and emotional development and communication in learning through exploration, play and leisure.  The five outcomes for children are:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity.
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
  • Children have a strong sense of well-being.
  • Children are confident and involved learners.
  • Children are effective communicators.

We have a wide range of toys, games and art materials as well as outdoor play equipment to keep children entertained for hours.  The Centre also has the use of school facilities such as the Sir Thomas Wardle Swimming Pool Complex, Hearn Hall, tennis courts, sporting ovals and Junior School climbing equipment.

Your child may complete homework tasks at our Centre to allow you more time to spend together when returning home after a busy day.  Please communicate with staff your child’s individual requirements.

Vacation Care

Our Centre offers a full day programme for selected vacation care days from 7.30am - 6.00pm. Please note that all days may not be available due to numbers.

Our Vacation Care programme includes a range of incursions and excursions from ideas brought forward by children and families at the Centre.

A programme is available showing each day’s activities prior to the school holiday period.  Please see our Vacation Care Programme to view the type of experiences and activities which are offered during this time.

Morning and afternoon tea are served on all Vacation Care days.  Families are required to provide their child with a packed lunch and water bottle.

Children must wear enclosed shoes to all outings and shirts with capped sleeving.  If a child wears unsuitable clothing, an OOSC shirt will be supplied.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BOOKINGS SHOULD BE IN 2 WEEKS BEFORE END OF TERM.
