In Years 11 and 12 Physical Education Studies can be selected at Stage 2 and 3 as a Tertiary Entrance Scoring subject or at Stage 1 as a non-Tertiary Entrance Scoring subject.

The emphasis is on learning through movement encompassing the following unit areas:

  • Exercise physiology
  • Functional anatomy
  • Sport psychology
  • Biomechanics
  • Motor learning and coaching
  • Developing physical skills, strategies and tactics

The Stage 1 course is designed for students who want to further their Physical Education experience and in the process, gain a variety of sports industry certificates that could be used for employment opportunities at the completion of Year 11 or 12.

The Stage 2 and 3 course caters for those students who want to use their strengths in Physical Education to support the knowledge they will gain in preparation for a wide range of university courses, primarily Human Movement, Exercise and Sport Science.
