Season Partner for Black Swan’s 2018 season of theatre

St Mary’s has partnered with the Black Swan State Theatre Company to engage leading female theatre director, Katt Osborne, as a Resident Artist to work alongside Black Swan’s Artistic Director, Clare Watson. The Resident Artist’s Programme provides artists within specific areas of expertise and sustained engagement with Black Swan across the year. Ms Osborne will act as Assistant Director on upcoming theatre production Xenides. Prior to this she was Assistant Director on Dr Seuss’s The Lorax for the Old Vic in London.

The partnership will include a bespoke theatre experience for St Mary’s senior drama and literature students that has a direct link to the curriculum to enhance their learning and provide insight into Black Swan’s creative process. The partnership will also include the provision of tickets for students to preview events  to expand their cultural experiences, as well as a ‘Clare Watson in Conversation’ event with St Mary’s students at one of the proposed ‘Women in Leadership’ afternoon talks on campus. The St Mary’s community and staff will also receive discounts on performances (excluding opening nights). To find out more, please email stmarys@stmarys.wa.edu.au
