Literacy and Numeracy Foundations
Strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and oral language are essential for future learning success. We are committed to providing every child with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive as learners.
Grounded in the Science of Learning, our approach combines intentional teaching, evidence-based programs and ongoing assessment to ensure learning experiences are responsive to each child’s strengths and needs. Through explicit instruction, hands-on learning and meaningful opportunities to apply new knowledge, students develop a deep understanding of key concepts while building confidence and independence.
Our experienced educators use a range of research-informed programs and strategies to support learning across Kindergarten to Year 2, creating strong foundations that prepare students for future academic success.
Evidence-Based Learning
Teaching in the Early Years is informed by current educational research and delivered through evidence-based practices that support student growth. Ongoing observation, assessment, and analysis of learning data help our teachers tailor instruction and provide appropriate support and challenge for every learner.
Literacy Foundations
Developing strong literacy skills begins with building children’s understanding of language, sounds, letters and words. Through explicit and systematic instruction, students develop the skills needed to become confident readers, writers and communicators.
Little Learners Love Literacy
Little Learners Love Literacy is an evidence-based program that supports the development of reading, writing and spelling skills. The program focuses on the essential components of literacy, including oral language, phonemic awareness, systematic synthetic phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
Students engage with carefully sequenced texts that align with taught concepts, allowing them to apply their learning, experience success and build confidence as readers.
Numeracy Foundations
Our numeracy program develops students’ understanding of numbers, mathematical thinking and problem-solving through a combination of explicit teaching, hands-on learning and practical application.
Bond Blocks
Bond Blocks is an evidence-based mathematics program designed to strengthen students’ counting, number awareness and early calculation skills. Through structured learning experiences and hands-on materials, students build confidence and develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Learning Through Doing
Learning Through Doing supports students in exploring mathematical concepts through practical experiences and carefully sequenced learning opportunities. This approach helps students develop mathematical reasoning, make connections between concepts and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
