The high-flying Class of 2019

In our second formal assembly of the year, we welcomed back our Class of 2019 High Flyers to celebrate their outstanding achievements.
Congratulations to Emma Bond ('19), pictured, winner of the 2019 Caltex Best All Rounder Award. This acknowledged Emma's academic results, strength across a range of subjects and activities, attitude, leadership, service and personal conduct.
A special thanks to our guest speakers Ebony Cunningham ('19), Madison Seth ('19) and 2019 Dux, Indigo Hoban-Fairfield ('19), who spoke about their ATAR and Elevate (VET) journeys. They shared how they managed their studies, co-curricular activities and social commitments during Year 12 and gave their top tips for maintaining balance and following their dreams. Their inspiring advice to the girls was to recognise their strengths and pursue what they love.
The Class of 2019’s results included a median ATAR of 91.15 (against a State average of 81) and 4 General Exhibitions, 3 Subject Exhibitions, 21 Certificates of Excellence, 50 Certificates of Distinction and 46 Certificates of Merit, along with the students who followed St Mary’s VET pathway, Elevate, who received a total of 46 certificates.
Congratulations to the following four students who achieved General Exhibitions, an incredible achievement:
- Indigo Hoban-Fairfield, the 2019 Dux of the School (ranked 8 in the State)
- Ebony Cunningham (17)
- Hannah Jones (46)
- Winifred Taylor-Williams (50)
WACE Subject Exhibitions, acknowledging the highest scaled WACE examination result in the State, were awarded to:
- Amanda Winton, for English
- Alexis Cutten, for Marine and Maritime Studies
- Ebony Cunningham, for Media Production and Analysis
Having chosen the Elevate pathway, Madison Seth, was awarded a VET Certificate of Excellence in Community Services, Health and Education. The outstanding achievements of the students who participated in the Elevate program is inspiring and demonstrates the many options a vocational pathway offers.
Once again, we congratulate and wish our youngest ‘Old Girls’ every happiness and success.
