Junior School Gets In On Centenary Celebrations

A wintry deluge did not dampen our students' spirit as their Centenary Week celebrations continued on Thursday.

The most exciting part of the day was unearthing our Junior School time capsule from 2001 and burying our Centenary time capsule, which will undoubtedly intrigue future generations of St Mary’s girls.

All of our Junior School girls enjoyed trying their hand at a variety of Olde World Games, including quoits, skittles, hula hoops and sack races, before our Year 3 students wore white dresses during a special chapel service to honour their St Mary’s predecessors, who donned similar dresses while attending church and formal events during the School’s formative years.

Father Richard Pengelley led the symbolic service, which also featured a history lesson from our School’s Archivist, Ms Stephanie Neille.
