Pre-primary - ‘Nature and Nurture’

Our purpose-built Pre-primary enables us to provide a balanced programme that creates an engaging, challenging and fun-filled learning environment. Pre-primary is an integral year for your daughter’s social, emotional and academic development and our programme is designed to encourage all girls to grow, share, explore, question and do their best.

The Pre-Primary programme is both play-based and centred around intentional teaching activities through which the girls will have many opportunities to play, learn and inquire. Specialist subjects provided are; Religion, Physical Education (which is a mix of Fundamental Movement Skills, Perceptual Motor Programme as well as swimming lessons), Music, Enrichment Programmes and the very popular Scientist in Residence. All programmes are based around both the Early Years’ Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Pre-primary WA Curriculum. At St Mary’s we also create authentic opportunities for our students to be a part of nature both through our purpose-built nature playground and the regular Trigg Reserve Bush School Programme.
