St Mary's Places Second at 2021 IGSSA Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to our inspirational St Mary’s athletes, who placed second in Tuesday's IGSSA Athletics Carnival.

The girls fought valiantly in a bid to bring home the win on the School’s 100th birthday, but they were pipped at the post by Iona Presentation College.

St Mary’s placed second in the overall Field competition and third in the overall Field contest, thanks to some brilliant individual and team performances.

Year 10 student, Emma, set a new IGSSA Javelin record with a mighty throw measuring 41.67m, while Year 9s Ella, Leola, Jess and Emily set a new IGSSA 4x100m relay benchmark when they crossed the finish line in just 51.12 seconds.

Our Year 9 team had a fantastic day on the WA Athletics Stadium track en route to winning their age division and our Year 7 team also performed admirably, placing third.
