What are your intake years?

Our main intake years are Kindergarten, Pre-primary, Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7, as well as places in Years 7 and 8 for boarding students. Occasionally, places become available in other years.

Offers are typically issued three years in advance of a student's commencement year.

On what basis are places offered at St Mary's?

Applications are processed in date order, with places allocated to boarders, siblings of current students and daughters of Old Girls first. As demand for places is very high we advise that you register your interest well in advance of your daughter's expected entry year.

Specifically, for those enrolling their children for Kindergarten and Pre-primary, the date of application refers to the number of days since birth. For students applying for places in later years, applications are processed on the date of application. We strongly recommend that you enrol your daughter as early as possible by completing the Application for Enrolment Form.

How do I enrol my daughter at St Mary's?

Please complete our Application for Enrolment Form.

Do I have to complete a separate Enrolment Application Form for each child?

Yes, a separate Application for Enrolment Form and Application Fee must be submitted for each child.

Will my daughter have to take an entrance exam to secure a place at St Mary's?

No she will not. However, compulsory testing for all students with confirmed places for Years 7 and 8 takes place towards the end of October in the year prior to their arrival at St Mary's (whether they are currently attending St Mary's or attending for the first time). This testing is used to provide the initial academic profile of all students entering Year 7 and 8 and as a guide for the organisation of classes. This testing day follows the compulsory Orientation Day for all Year 7 and 8 students.

If, after our initial application, we change our preferred year of entry, does this mean we will go to the bottom of the waiting list?

No, we will continue to use your initial application date.

How many students are in the school?

We have over 1400 students, consisting of approximately 1000 in the Senior School and 400 in the Junior School.
