Enrolment FAQ - St Mary's Anglican Girls' School

Enrolment FAQ

What are St Mary’s intake years?

Our main intake years are Kindergarten, Pre-primary, Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7, as well as Years 7 and 8 for boarding students. Occasionally, places become available in other years.

Offers are typically issued three years in advance of a student’s commencement year.

On what basis are places offered at St Mary’s?

St Mary’s enrols students in Kindergarten, Pre-primary and Years 5, 6 and 7. Enrolment outside of these intakes will be considered on an individual basis. The decision to offer a place is at the Principal’s absolute discretion. Applications for intake years are processed in date order, with places allocated to boarders, siblings of current students and daughters of Old Girls first. As demand for places is very high, we advise that you apply well in advance of your daughter’s expected entry year by completing an online Application for Enrolment Form.

If you are applying to enrol your daughter for Kindergarten or Pre-primary, the date of application refers to the number of days since birth.

How do I enrol my daughter at St Mary’s?

Please complete our online Application for Enrolment Form.

Do I have to complete a separate Application for Enrolment Form for each child?

Yes, a separate Application for Enrolment Form and Application Fee must be submitted for each child.

Will my daughter have to take an entrance exam to secure a place at St Mary’s?

No, she will not. However, compulsory testing for all students with confirmed places for Years 5, 6 and 7 takes place towards the end of October in the year prior to their arrival at St Mary’s. This testing provides the School with an initial academic profile of all students entering Year 7 and guides the organisation of classes.

If, after our initial application, we decide to change our preferred year of entry, will our daughter go to the bottom of the waiting list?

If you have not been sent a formal offer of a place, we will use your initial application date when making offers for the new preferred year. If you decline an offer, any future request for a place will be considered on an individual basis without regard for the original date of application.

How many students attend St Mary’s?
