Old Girls’ Scholarships and Awards
Every year, our Old Girls’ Association and the St Mary’s Foundation offer several scholarships, awards and prizes to St Mary’s Old Girls.
To apply for a scholarship, you need to be a Life Member of the Old Girls’ Association. If you are unsure if you are a member, please contact us at oga@stmarys.wa.edu.au or (08) 9341 9107. Please note that all students who completed Year 12 in 1996 or later are already financial Life Members, thanks to the generosity of the St Mary’s Foundation. To become a Life Member, please complete this form.

The Ethel Beaton Old Girls’ Association Scholarship for Years 11 and 12
For the daughters and granddaughters of OGA Life Members.

The Marlene Carter Old Girls’ Association Scholarship for a Year 7 student
For the daughters and granddaughters of OGA Life Members.

The Jane Gillon Arts Award for a Year 12 student
For an outstanding student who intends to continue studying her chosen Arts subject in Year 12, including: Dance, Design Fundamentals, Drama, Materials, Design and Technology, Media Production and Analysis, Music or Visual Arts.
Congratulations to Georgina Cahill, who is the recipient of the 2026 Jane Gillon Arts Award.
Applications for the 2027 Jane Gillon Arts Award are now open. The successful recipient will receive financial assistance of up to $750 towards her studies during Year 12.
Applications close at 5.00pm on Sunday 16 August 2026.
The Diane Porter Prize for Citizenship in the Junior School
The Diane Porter Prize for Citizenship is awarded annually to a Year 6 student.
The OGA Citizenship Prize and Shield
The Old Girls’ Association Prize for Citizenship is a cash prize awarded annually to a Year 10 student who has been a good all-round citizen and has been involved in many school activities. Prize winners also receive the Old Girls’ Shield for one year.

Bonny Milne Scholarship for Medicine
The Bonny Milne Scholarship for Medicine is awarded to an Old Girl who is studying medicine and can demonstrate how she intends to practise medicine for the good of humanity. Provides financial support of up to $10,000.
Deborah Cook Scholarship for Nursing*
The Deborah Cook Scholarship is awarded to an Old Girl commencing her second year of a nursing or midwifery degree, and is valued at up to $500.
Esmee Byatt Scholarship for Medicine*
The Esmee Byatt Scholarship for Medicine is awarded to an Old Girl commencing her second year of a postgraduate medical degree at the University of Western Australia only. Provides financial support of up to $1,500.
Fay Bailey Scholarships for Engineering, Science and Law*
The Fay Bailey Scholarships are awarded to Old Girls who are commencing their third year of an engineering, science-related or law degree or the first year of a postgraduate law degree. Provides financial support of up to $1,500.
Helen Judge Arts Award
The Helen Judge Arts Award is awarded to an Old Girl commencing her second or third year of a fine arts-related university degree, and is valued at up to $1,500.
Lynne Thomson Overseas Study Scholarship
The Lynne Thomson Overseas Study Scholarship is for an Old Girl who is pursuing a degree at an exceptional overseas university. Provides financial support of up to $2,500.
Molly Riley RISE Award
The Molly Riley RISE Award recognises Old Girls who are inspiring role models in their careers, their community, in the arts or sport. Provides financial support of up to $5,000.
*The Deborah Cook Scholarship, Esmee Byatt Scholarship and Fay Bailey Scholarships were established thanks to gifts left to St Mary’s in the wills of these Old Girls. The School and the recipients are sincerely grateful to them for their generosity. Bequests can be made in several forms and can be directed to a particular area of interest.
