Enrichment and Support
Our Academic Centre for Enrichment (ACE) offers a Gifted and Talented program and an Academic Support program. Having a dedicated ACE team gives us the flexibility to provide differentiated learning programs to support our students. Specialist staff work with our Gifted and Talented and Academic Support students in the classroom and at our ACE Centre.
Our Gifted and Talented program is designed to inspire our academically gifted students to reach their potential. We cater to the unique needs of these students in a stimulating, relaxed and fun environment.
Our Academic Support program offers students the opportunity to learn at their own pace, with evidence-based methods best suited to their needs. Our specialist ACE teachers and a school psychologist case-manage each student. For some students, a carefully designed Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Learning Adjustment Plan (LAP) may be necessary to help them achieve success in the classroom.
Across our Junior School, we use a Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), an approach that ensures every student receives the right level of support for learning. All students begin with high‑quality, evidence‑based classroom teaching (Tier 1), and their progress is regularly monitored.
If a student needs more support, they access targeted, short‑term intervention in small groups (Tier 2), designed to address specific gaps. This is usually done within the classroom setting. A small number of students may receive more intensive, individualised support (Tier 3); these students may require an IEP.
Throughout the process, teachers use data to track progress and adjust support, ensuring that teaching is responsive and that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
