Our Junior School girls have won both the Year 5 and Year 6 pennants at the JIGSSA Athletics Carnival, held at the WA Athletics Stadium on 29 October. This is the first year both our Senior School and Junior School have celebrated interschool athletics wins in the same year.

Talented Year 12 Visual Art student, Catherine, was announced as the national winner of the Wearable Art section at the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion and Arts National Awards, which took place in Melbourne on 21 October.

St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School Year 10 student, Lucy, has been touted as a future MP, after winning the 2019 My First Speech competition. Lucy presented her (mock) ‘maiden speech’ in Parliament House yesterday and spoke passionately about using wellbeing to measure a country’s success as the way forward.

Three Year 10 students from St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, are the State winners of the Next Tech Girl Superhero competition, after they developed an app which aims to solve the problem of improper waste disposal.

Congratulations to three Year 11 students, Briana (Italian), Amy and Nimmat (French), who have made the finals of the WAATI and Alliance Française examinations. This is a significant achievement, placing them in the top 10 (Italian) and 20 (French) students in the state.

St Mary’s ran, threw and jumped their way to victory at the IGSSA Athletics Carnival, held at the WA Athletics Stadium on Tuesday 17 September. It was our first Athletics win since 1972 and just our second win in the history of IGSSA.

With our Centenary just around the corner, our Year 3 girls delighted in the opportunity to mark another milestone in our School’s history – celebrating the School’s 98th birthday with a visit to the original St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School and Hale School campus’.
