Community Service - St Mary's Anglican Girls' School

Community Service

St Mary’s students have been faithfully serving the wider community for more than 100 years. The school has established several meaningful community relationships and our students take great pride in supporting a myriad of purposeful organisations. Whether they are volunteering at a nursing home, assisting local environmental projects or lending a helping hand at a charity event, our girls learn important life skills and the value of service to others.

We coordinate a compulsory community service program requiring students from Years 9 to 11 to complete a minimum of 20 hours community service. This program aims to develop our students’ values, skills and understanding of the importance of supporting local communities. Our girls undertake activities during school hours and in their personal time. Many log additional service hours when they become involved with a cause that is close to their heart.

Our students also participate in regular service trips to support remote Indigenous communities and international charities, including the Cambodia Children’s Fund.

Examples of organisations our students support include:

  • Amana Living – Moline House
  • Anglican Board of Mission
  • Anglicare WA
  • Cambodian Children’s Fund
  • Fostering Hope
  • Friends of Trigg Bushland
  • Leukaemia Foundation
  • Riding for the Disabled
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Rotary Club of Perth
  • Royal Flying Doctor Service
  • The Smith Family

Learn about our enrolment process

St Mary’s is all about girls discovering their best. We want our students to be engrossed in the exploration of ideas, to be self-motivated and self-directed, to delight in trying something new and to contribute positively to the community.
