Our Teaching Approach

Strong foundations through Explicit Teaching

Teaching in the Early Years is deliberate, responsive and evidence-informed. Our educators use ongoing observation, assessment and student data to guide planning and ensure learning experiences meet the needs of every child.

Through evidence-based programs and explicit instruction, students develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and oral language while building confidence as learners.

Purposeful Play and Inquiry

Play is a purposeful foundation for learning in the Early Years. Through play, inquiry and authentic experiences, children explore ideas, solve problems, collaborate with others and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our educators intentionally design learning experiences that encourage creativity, curiosity and independent thinking while supporting the development of essential knowledge and skills.

A connected learning journey

Learning across Kindergarten to Year 2 follows a carefully planned progression that supports continuity, challenge and growth. As students move through the Early Years, learning experiences increase in complexity, independence and academic rigour while remaining developmentally appropriate.

Partnerships with families

We recognise families as children’s first educators and value strong partnerships between home and school. Through the Storypark app, parent-teacher interviews, reporting and ongoing communication, we work collaboratively to support each child’s learning journey and celebrate their growth.

Our Early Learning Philosophy

Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, the Western Australian Curriculum and the Science of Learning, our approach nurtures the whole child through explicit teaching, purposeful play and meaningful learning experiences.
