The next chapter in the development of our Science, Enterprise, Technology and Innovation (SETI) Centre has been unveiled, with our community recently gathering to learn more about the state-of-the-art project and the opportunities it will create for future generations of girls.
The event revealed new details about the SETI Centre and launched a feature video capturing the vision and ambition behind its development, which you can view below.
The evening included a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring current St Mary’s parent and Non-Executive Director Sharon Warburton, Old Girl and med-tech innovator Melanie White (’05), Dean of Teaching and Learning Monica Gordon and Principal Judith Tudball, who facilitated the conversation. Together, they explored how schools can prepare young people for a future shaped by rapid technological advancement, evolving industries and opportunities yet to be imagined.

Central to the conversation was the importance of nurturing curiosity, creativity and confidence in young people. These qualities have informed the design and purpose of the SETI Centre, which will provide innovative spaces where students can ask bold questions, explore new ideas, embrace emerging technologies and develop the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
Guests were also invited to learn more about the many ways families and individuals can support the project and help bring the Centre to life, including by contributing to the striking Periodic Table art installation that will feature in the building’s foyer or by helping create future-focused learning environments within the building.
More than a building, the SETI Centre represents our commitment to creating exceptional learning experiences that engage hearts and ignite curious minds. As construction continues, the project is steadily taking shape as a landmark space that will inspire generations of learners and innovators.
